In the last week or so I sold the headboard in the garage and the new owner loves it, cleaned out and off the cabinetry, and generally began the process of removing the cabinets. With the headboard, it’s new owner really likes it and even sent me a picture of it in her guest room and it goes well with her existing nightstands.

We have cleaned off the cabinets and are preparing to take them down the next day, which was a process trust me. I am an organizer at heart and not organizing everything as I go was hard for me not to do, but I kept thinking of the end process and what it was going to be when done. It looks like a mess still at this stage, but we aren’t nearly done yet.

The next day we were able to remove the cabinets from the garage and let me tell you it was a process. In the end it’s so worth having them gone. I’ve had friends say that it sounds like a great idea to have that in the garage, it wasn’t, they weren’t level, the tops were just planks of wood nailed in or stapled in and turns out there was water damage on the lower portions that you don’t see until you clean them out of the tons of paint cans in them.

Now that we have the cabinets removed, we started cleaning the space preparing for the industrial shelves to be installed. We ended up finding $2.22 in change under the cabinets which was a surprise. In the next blog I’ll get into the installation of the shelving units and how we are starting the organization of the shelves. Then where is the ideal space or shelf to store my rocks I find, plus where to put the rock tumblers in the garage.
Let me know where you are in your project that you’ve been working on, if you have any suggestions on how to better utilize the space in the garage I have or even just to say hi!
