Hello there my friends. It’s been far too long since I’ve written. I’m still around and rockhounding just haven’t been doing much with it for a while. We all get into those moments where life gets busy, and we lose our focus for our beloved hobbies and past times. This doesn’t mean they mean any less, but that we have a different focus that takes our time. There’s nothing wrong with it at all.

Anyhow, in early February I was able to my friend Ray in Tucson, AZ during the Gem and Mineral spring shows. This trip reignited my desire to get back into blogging, rock hounding, and working with the rocks I am lucky enough to find and with luck am able turn into something beautiful that others will appreciate as much as myself. Walking around the Kino Gem & Mineral Show, seeing how the vendors displayed their merchandise got me thinking about what I really want to do. Do I see myself there selling what I find? Do I want to really do this, selling at shows? Or just online? How much product do I need to have to sell and make a profit? Do I want to buy rocks that others have found and resell them or just the rocks I’ve found? How much would it cost to set up everything to sell? These are the questions that go through my head when I think back on the week. I bought a few pieces from a couple vendors a few are gifts so I can’t show pictures of them at this time but in the future I might.
Here are a few pictures of piece for sale that caught my attention, though far out of my budget. But I really enjoyed their uniqueness.

While I was still in Tucson, I took the time to write down a few goals for myself to move forward with my with my rockhounding with the hopes of making it a profitable side business that in time might become a fulltime thing. These goals are in no specific order.
Goal 1: Clean and organize the garage so the second set of shelves can be put together. This includes the removal of the old kitchen cabinets that were set up in there from the previous owners of the house. The idea is to give me a place to have my rocks stored in a move organized. Currently they’re in small copy paper boxes, 5-gallon buckets, and smaller buckets that were purchased to use with washing the cars. I need a better way to store them in ways that’s easier for me. As well as have a designated rock tumbling area to tumble rocks. This will be an ever-evolving design as I move forward with this venture.
Goal 2: I need to rejoin the Reno Gem and Mineral Society, take classes to learn to wire wrap, and learn to make cabochons with what I have and with my future finds. I want to make myself more versatile and have a wider range of materials to sell that I have made myself, rather than being put into a position where I feel that I must purchase from a wholesaler and having no idea where the rocks have come from just to fill out my table and offerings.
Goal 3: Blog again, at least 1 time a week. This I where you, my reader friends, get to join me on this journey. I will take you along with me on the garage cleanup and organization. Hopefully, I’ll have videos to accompany my blog. I am open to hearing your thoughts about you would organize everything. This does include in the garage in general.
I hope you enjoy this journey, and it helps spark something in your life you want to change or start. Enjoy the path and everything along the way with me. Feel free to leave me a comment about what this has sparked you to do or change in your life.
